This video explains different types of loans. Unsecured Loans - If you need to borrow up to £20,000 and you have a good credit history then an unsecured loan will probably be the cheaper option. Secured Loans - If you need to borrow over £20,000 or want to pay back your loan over a longer period, or have bad credit history, a secured loan will probably be a better option. This video explains secured loans. With a secured loan you can borrow up to £100,000 and repay the loan over 10 years or more, even if you have missed loan payments in the last couple of years. You will need to own your property outright or have a mortgage on it to qualify for a secured loan. The lender will lend you money based upon the level of equity in your property.
