Summary:
Three true Eagles fans tell it how it is.

Description:
Three rabid Eagles fans… season ticket holders past and present. We get together each week and talk about our favorite pro football team in typical midnight green and silver style. Each has our own perspective on being a fan. Eric and Chuck live in South Jersey and have season tickets together, and Todd now lives in L.A. We talk about the normal ups and downs, being a fan wherever you are, traveling to games, tailgating, being there, being away, the players, the atmosphere, the coaches and, of course, that dream.

EaglesFanCast - Views on the Philadelphia Eagles
EaglesFanCast - Views on the Philadelphia Eagles
Three Philadelphia Eagles fans that meet and discuss the Eagles ups and downs as only Eagles fans can... with sarcasm, blunt talk, passion and humor.

Well now things are getting interesting again.  The Philadelphia Eagles welcome the Jets to The Linc and trounce them 45-19, showing for the second week in a row a rather dominant Offense AND Defense.  Surprisingly, the Eagles are also still a faint glimmer in the playoff conversation, but need plenty of help the last two weeks of the season.  So no Eagles fans all over are at odds with their feelings on the team; those wanting head coach Andy Reid and Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo gone at any cost, and those that really enjoyed the Eagles teams that showed up the past two weeks.  It’s a very interesting thing that is going on in thi...

The Philadelphia Eagles return to their winning ways and defeat the Miami Dolphins in Miami, 26-10.  Although the Eagles played decidedly well in the game, one of the highlights was definitely the 20,000 Eagles fans that had quite a large voice and made themselves heard in Miami.  It was an absolutely awesome display and made all Eagles fans proud.  Overall, as we knew, the Eagles need to win out and get a lot of help to have a shot at the playoffs, and they took a small step this week in the win.  The New York Giants also beat the Dallas Cowboys which also helped the Eagles keep the chance alive. What we discussed: UK Steve Brown joins C...

The Philadelphia Eagles fall to a horrendous 4-8 on the season after a 31-14 embarrassing loss to the Seattle Seahawks.  Ironically enough the Eagles are NOT mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet, as all three of the other NFC East teams, the Cowboys, Giants and Redskins all lost this weekend. To talk about this hapless division in the NFL, we have Jimmy Klempski from Blogging the Beast on the show.  Jimmy is also a contributor to Bleeding Green Nation.  We talk about the continued demise of this Eagles team, where some of the blame lies, and how the team needs to approach things heading out of this season.  But wait!  Despite th...

The Philadelphia Eagles lose yet another home game, this time being embarrassed by the New England Patriots who methodically picked the Eagles apart like the Birds were a high school team. Yet the Patriots team is just a shadow of years past and the Eagles team is a professional football team with preseason aspirations of the Super Bowl. No more, as this loss essentially cements the team as one of the biggest disappointments in franchise history… and that says a lot. After squandering a 10-0 early game lead, the Patriots score three unanswered touchdowns. But the climax of the game occurred in the third quarter when about a quarter of the ...

As the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles NFL season continues in all of its dual personality, our own Eagles defeat the NFC East 1st place New York Giants in a game that came down to the final minutes.  The culmination of the game was backup Quarterback Vince Young, playing for injured Michael Vick, led his Offense on an 18-play drive for a touchdown that lasted 8:51, breaking the tie and going up 17-10.  Not long after, the Eagles Defense, which dominated most of the game, forced an Eli Manning fumble, stopping the Giants’ drive, and allowing the Eagles to win the game.  What was impressive was that the Eagles starting quarterback (Vick) and wide ...

What is there to say? The Philadelphia Eagles lose to the Arizona Cardinals and blow their fifth fourth quarter lead of the season.  At this point, with how the team played and the coaches failed, it’s very difficult to spin anything positive on how this season has progressed, and where they are going from here.  The Eagles travel up to play the New York Giants, but with the season already over, we do not see a chance that the Eagles will pull this game out and expect them to lose.  With much feedback in emails and voicemails this week, we have seen the fans’ disgust with head coach Andy Reid, and it seems that almost all want Reid gone. T...

First of all, I want to dedicate this week’s show to all Veterans… of every service… of every country… of every sex, creed and belief. We honor what you do so we can do things like live freely, raise families in peace and enjoy what we make of our time on this planet. Your sacrifices allowed me to grow and raise a family of my own, and allows them to do the same.  Thank you.  Come home safely, welcome home to those who have served, and to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, rest in peace. So here we are again. We discuss yet another head-scratching loss by the Philadelphia Eagles, at home, against a team they should have beaten… by less...

How ’bout them Cowboys?! That was a thought repeated many times the past few days by many Philadelphia Eagles fans. The Dallas Cowboys sauntered into Philly for Sunday Night Football, with Rob Ryan talking his talk, and the Eagles go up by 34 points before the Cowboys scored their first touchdown, in the fourth quarter.  The Eagles did everything right in this game, from coaching, to concentration, to discipline, to playmaking.  It was one of those games as a football fan that you have to admire.  The fact that it happened against the hated Cowboys, in Philly, in front of an international audience, and with fueling the thoughts of a season...

25 Oct 2011 at 11:12pm
So we once again come across the Eagles BYE week, unofficially the mid-point of the Eagles season, despite only being six games in so far.  This is where, historically, fans and analysts (and hopefully coaches) assess the team, what has gone well, what has gone wrong and where things are going. We are no different, and as has been tradition, we invited our friend Jason Brewer from Bleeding Green Nation to join in on the Eagles conversation.  We talk the season so far, the Cowboys game this week, and even dip into the Donovan McNabb pool for a bit. What we discussed: Eagles grade at the BYE week has to be an ‘F’ We talk how the Eagles play...

The Philadelphia Eagles win their second game of the season, and do it against their NFC East Division rival, the Washington Redskins.  The Eagles Defense morphed this week into a more disciplined and aggressive system, which harassed Redskins’ quarterback Rex Grossman for most of the game, and our newest Safety Kurt Coleman had a career game with three interceptions on the day.  On the other side of the ball, the Eagles Offense put up a very impressive first half, looking more confident, but still struggled in the second half yet prevailed by our Defense to win the game. This week we have Tommy Lawlor on to celebrate the win.  Tommy’s all...

The Philadelphia Eagles find a way to lose again, on the road up in Buffalo against the Bills.  Now the Eagles are 1-4, with many problems ahead of them, and showing very little signs of being able to fix the problems left behind them in the previous four weeks. Fans predominantly blame Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo and as a result, Head Coach Andy Reid. Now the Eagles are on the brink of a total season failure with a mountain in front of them to overcome for the rest of the season.  This week they play their NFC East Division rival Washington Redskins.  A win there could boost team morale greatly as the team then moves into the BYE ...

The Philadelphia Eagles lose yet again, this time to the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.  They blew a 23-3 lead and lost by a score of 23-24, for the third game in a row scoring zero points in the 4th Quarter of the game and allowing their opponent to effectively run their Offense.  The fans’ heartache and frustration were displayed as a good portion of the stadium started chanting “Let’s Go Phil-lies!  Let’s Go Phil-lies!” during the last quarter of the game.  There is blame landing throughout the organization by fans, from the players (Maclin carrying the ball like a loaf of bread and easily getting it knocked loose, Ronn...

28 Sep 2011 at 9:41pm
The Philadelphia Eagles home opener against the New York Giants did not turn out the way most expected with the Eagles losing 16-29.  Many things broke down this week, including some huge coaching decisions that were questionable at best.  The run Defense continued to suffer, and player discipline also was suspect with costly dropped passes and game-changing penalties.  Quarterback Mike Vick injured his hand, originally thought to have been broken, which brought in backup Mike Kafka.  Kafka threw two costly interceptions, which sealed any kind of comeback.  It definitely ruined a fun day, with a tailgate full of pulled pork sandwiches and ...

A wild game down south as the Philadelphia Eagles put up 31 points only to lose to the Atlanta Falcons.  Dropped passes, turnovers, Defensive holes, coaching mistakes and Quarterback Michael Vick leaving the game because of a concussion were the many reasons this game was lost. Despite these, the Eagles put up numbers that would have beaten most teams in the NFL, and there were quite a few bright spots during the game. Some fans are angry and others look at it in the context of it being early in the season.  All told, for the most part the fans are on board with this team as continuing to be a force on both sides of the ball. This week the...

The Philadelphia Eagles start off the 2011 NFL season with a big win over the St. Louis Rams.  After a rough start on both Offense and Defense, the team turns things around and outscore the Rams 31-6 after a remarkable Rams touchdown very early in the game. The Eagles players and coaches made the necessary adjustments and turned it around showing a tenacity and maturity that we hoped we would see from this team.  Next the Eagles go into Atlanta for a much-hyped game against our star quarterback’s former team, after they come off a bad loss.  It will be another big test early in the season leading up to the home opener the following week.
