30 Jan 2012 at 9:00pm
Welcome to our one-hundred and fiftieth episode! This should probably be some sort of milestone, but instead we carry on and talk about video games as per usual. This week we are joined by Mike Bachmann, host of Fistful of Pixels and generally known as a decent sort of fellow. Topics include Dustforce, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Resident Evil: Revelations, Hero Academy and Recettear: An Item Shops Tale. Mid Song: "Elvish Piper Academy" by Lifeformed from the Dustforce soundtrack

It's time for some "real talk". We here at WingDamage strive to bring you fun and original content about video games. It's our favorite thing to blather on about. But there comes a time when you realize that life has gotten significantly busier for you, and your hobbies need to be pushed to the back burner. That said, we want to continue to record and post new episodes or Barrel Roll, but to continue to do so we have changed a few things. First, it's a little bit more on the casual/conversational side. We are going to pick a couple topics and see where they take us. This means there may be some tangents. Second, we are going bi-weekly, a...

This week on the show, Adam Anania returns to tell us all the games he has been playing. It isn't really a game so much as a way to send Jesse disturbing images. It's better known as Swapnote. Jonah tried to get into the Sega CD entry in the Sonic series, Sonic CD, on the iPhone, and to give himself something other than Star Wars: The Old Republic to talk about, he also played a few rounds of Orcs Must Die! Meanwhile, Jesse actually played some games, which include the excellent Rayman Origins and a flash game that is almost exactly like Mega Man, but not quite. It's called Rokko Chan and it stars a "female" robot fighting several bosses ...

26 Dec 2011 at 4:00pm
This week on the show, Jonah is shocked to his very core when Jesse not only tried an MMO, but actually enjoyed it! That's right, we are talking about Star Wars: The Old Republic, just like every other show out there. But don't worry, we diversify. We aren't content being stuck in some intergalactic rut. No, my friends, we also take a look at Might Switch Force. Oh, other shows mentioned that one as well? What about Mega Man X for iOS? Adam's got your back. You want a little Monster Tale action for the DS players out there? We got that too. Jonah and Adam have also been playing the 3DS eShop exclusive Pushmo and think you should probably ...

19 Dec 2011 at 9:00pm
This week on the show, Jonah and Jesse are joined by Mike Bachmann of "A Fistful of Pixels" fame. It's a rollicking good time filled with unicorns, laser swords and doughnuts. In our "What We've Been Playing" segment, Jonah has had The Old Republic sink it's claws deep inside his tender flesh with it's early access program. He did break away long enough to give Ghost Trick a try, but only just. Jesse gives us an in-depth look at Nano Assault and a quick rundown of all the GBA games that were released as part of the 3DS ambassador program. Mike only plays the latest of jams, like Animal Crossing City Folk and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If yo...

by podcast@wingdamage.com
12 Dec 2011 at 9:00pm
We've finally decided to throw in the towel and become a full on tabloid rag. Think of all the awesome hits we could pull in with sensationalist headlines like "Nintendo is Over!", "Miyamoto is Quits All Games!", and "Video Games Kills Kittens!". We would be rolling in the fat stacks of cash. But alas, we were too busy playing video games to sensationalize headlines about them. This week on the show, Jonah and Jesse and joined by Rockin' Android's own Adam Milecki for some in-depth talk of Demon's Souls and why Adam is so addicted to it. Jonah has been playing baby games, specifically Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure on both the PS3 and 3DS....

5 Dec 2011 at 9:00pm
On this, the one-hundred and forty-fourth entry in the annals of podcast history, we travel back to do the days of Templara and Assassins fighting over their various creeds. And who can rise up and rule them all? Only one man is brave enough. Only one man is cunning enough. Only one man, has top hat enough to accomplish his goals. This week, Jonah, Jesse, and Adam come together to discuss their likes and dislikes of Super Mario 3D Land, and even spend some time in Bowser's Zen Garden. Adam goes back to one of his favorite series of this generation with Assassin's Creed Revelations and gives us the breakdown of the changes from the last g...

28 Nov 2011 at 9:00pm
Spyro is fast, and a dragon! With the holiday weekend upon us and everyone traveling, visiting family or otherwise incapacitated, it's up to Jonah and Jesse to hold down the fort. But that's OK, because they both managed to play a lot of games this week. Jesse reviewed The King of Fighters XIII and gives us the full rundown on this edition's updates (this time there are modes!). Jonah finished the 3DS version of Sonic Generations and compares it to it's big console counterpart. Jesse is about four dungeons in to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and gives a breakdown of the pacing, mechanics, and most importantly, the 1 to 1 bug catchin...

22 Nov 2011 at 9:00pm
There is only one way to bring about peace in the galaxy on this week's Barrel Roll Podcast, and that is to go inside. That's right, this week Jonah, Adam and Jesse are injected inside Martin Short thanks to a shrink ray experiment gone horribly awry. While all the news is taken up by Black Friday Sales talk (which we skip), there are some new releases of note that we go over. We also take a good chunk of time talking about Rockman EXE: Phantom of Network and the Mega Man Battle Network games in general. Adam has also played through the 3D Classics version of Kirby's Adventure and gives us his thoughts on the slight update to the NES clas...

Adam Anania returns on for our one-hundred and skyrims-skytacular. Skyrim. Sorry, I was distracted there for a second. On our one-hundred and forty-first episode of Barrel Roll, we are joined by Adam Anania who has not been playing Skyrim, but has actually been playing Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Star Fox 64 3D. Jesse has been playing some Otomedius Excellent, which he swears was borrowed from a friend, and we aren't really sure if that makes it any better. Jonah and Jesse have played Sonic Generations and give their impressions on that, and Jonah has been playing some of The Old Republic beta (don't worry, he only talks about stuff ...

7 Nov 2011 at 7:00pm
On a very smooth one-hundred and fortieth Barrel Roll, Jonah and Jesse are once again joined by Wesley for one fine episode. Jesse and Jonah have both entered into free time killing hobbies, what with all the remix contests and novel writing. Wes has been busy too, we assume. In our games played section, we discuss the return of our heroes from gaming's past with Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Sonic Generations. Wes has sold his soul to Uncharted 3 and Jonah actually played a game this time for reals you guys. He grabbed the current Humble Bundle, The Humble Voxatron Debut. From that he has been playing the Voxatron alpha and also the di...

31 Oct 2011 at 8:00pm
It's a triumphant return to form when Jesse, Wes, Adam and Jonah get together once again to talk about video game related topics. Adam Milecki (aka Adam 2) has been playing an awful lot of Dark Souls and gives us the rundown. He and Jonah discuss the nitty gritty of it versus it's predecessor, Demon's Souls, at least to the extent that someone (Jonah) can, having tried to play it while watching a nine-month-old. As it turns out, that is not as much as he would like. Not having had much time to play anything, Jonah did at least get to start a Titan's Quest campaign with some friends, and managed to rustle up a four person team of gladiator...

17 Oct 2011 at 5:00pm
This week on the Barrel Roll Show, Wes joins Jonah and Jesse for some Uncharted 3 multiplayer chat. Jonah and Wes also talk about Diablo 2 and how it holds up. But before that we get into that, we discuss the games we've been played over the last week. Jesse gave Ace Combat: Assault Horizon a shot to find it a bit of a mixed bag. He also played through Aliens Infestation which it turns out is a pretty good video game. Wes has once again been sucked into Borderlands and the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC. Perusing the games on his Steam list that he's never gotten around to trying also prompted him to boot up Freedom Force vs The Third Reic...

10 Oct 2011 at 9:00pm
A regular Barrel Roll podcast is no longer enough. But what could we possibly do to up the ante? Bears, and lots of them! This week, Adam Anania is back again, with more tales of magic and wonder. It appears that his 3DS has become self-healing. Can world domination be far behind? In our "Games Played Over the Course of the Week" segment, Jonah and Wes played through the Rochard demo and found a pleasant mix of 2D puzzles and gravity guns. Wes discovered that he isn't into the "constantly punch you in the face" genre, and returned Dark Souls quickly after renting it. He did the same with X-Men: Destiny, but for reasons of suckitude, not ...

3 Oct 2011 at 9:00pm
On this, the one-hundred and thirty-sixth episode of the Barrel Roll podshow, Adam Anania joins us from Japan with tales of old cell phone games and magic. It's not all meat buns and field days though. Jonah, Jesse and Wes are also here to bring you the latest in games for the Playstation. The first one. You know like Mega Man Legends and Die Hard Trilogy. Speaking of Legends, Adam gave Rockman DASH: Itsutsu no Shima no Daibouken! a whirl, and got some time in with Gargoyle's Quest on the 3DS Virtual Console as well. Jesse brings more Xenoblade Chronicles talk and recommends checking out Michelle's article about the game. He also talks So...
